We arrived on Monday after a good flight to heavy rain and 3c-colder than London.

The taxi driver we had went to the same school as I did but 2/3 year ahead. I vaguely knew of him as he used to win all the races at sportsday and always came first in the cross countrys. He now lives in St Leonards.

Went on a morning coach tour of the city(it has now stopped raining but still cold) and visited Tokyo tower (copy of Eiffel tower built in 1958),Shinto shrine and Imperial palace gardens which although winter had several trees in blossom. We then had a tipical Japanese lunch and walked back to the hotel( half an hour) via Sony centre - 8 floors of gadgets- saw my next tv a 200inch super high definition- didn't ask the price- if you ask you can't afford it!

On trip to Mount Fuji tomorrow but forecast does not look good to see it- hopefuuly may still be able to do cable car trip and then back to Tokyo by bullet train.
