In sunny Santiago now. Gorgeous city. Very hot. The hostel is lovely and clean, overlooking the main square - 'plaza de Armas'. The hostel is very quiet though. People seem to just be killing time here before their next flight. Have been told that there isnt an awful lot to do in Santiago. We only have 1 day anyway. Very tired again!

Sharing our dorm with yet another lone German guy. He is very pleasant but like the last one, very comfortable with himself and quite happy to lounge around practically naked chatting to us and unforunately again, he doesnt have the goods to back this behaviour up! Lets just hope he doesnt fall out of bed naked like the last one did - from the top bunk we might add...ouch! During our time in Sth America we have realised that we can put the people we have met into four distinct categories - (1) rude Israeli's, (2) naked German men (3) nice girls and (4) sex-mad twenty something boys!!!

We're quite happy just wandering around, sampling the Chilean wine! We certainly have something to drink to - finally having managed to buy an adaptor- so we can charge camera's and ipods! You would not believe how much we have missed not having one! lol.

Lots of beggars and pickpocketers though. Having to be very careful again! Our morals seem to be challenged every day here, for example, at lunch today we had just finished eating and a tramp came up to us gabbling in spanish, clearly asking if he could finish our left overs... what would you have done? We feigned misunderstanding and assumed when our waiter approached he´d be moved on, however to our surprise the waiter put our plates on the adjacent table and allowed the tramp to start woolfing it down. Should we have immediately handed our plates over? We don't know... It is all adding to our experience here, these are challenges you certainly wouldnt be faced with at Pizza Express in England!  Sounds awful, but it was quite funny to see him scranning it down his neck!
