What a dodgy country!! Eager for an extra stamp on our passports we crossed the border today. Three countries in 40 minutes, quite a feat we think :) We were also on the hunt for bargain merchandise, namely a new camera to replace nics 18th century one. The mystery of this strange country was enhanced by the onslaught of tropical rain (which was nicely combined with sewage on the streets!)
There was not a single other foreign face to be seen as we trawled the streets trying to find a cash machine that would accept our plastics, and during this little journey we had to face many security guards all of whom seemed to be carrying what were little more than sawn off shotguns! Our naive little english sensibilities were shocked by this as all english security guards seem to carry are a badge and a beer belly!
Got a camera, a few shady photo's from beneath our poncho's, and got the hell out of there! lol.
Walked the green mile back across the bridge to Brazil. Hiding behind scores of Brazilians with bags and bags of duty free goods slung over their shoulders. dodgy b******! ha! We then dodged Brazilian customs to become temporary illegal immigrants, before finally hopping on a bus back to argentina...very confusing stuff!
All in all, not the place for your next family holiday. A great experience however!
Ciao Paraguay! Hasta Luego!
