Second day in Kenya and Nairobi coming to an end. First day spent a long time at the airport due to missing luggage. Transportation to hostel with taxi in chaotic Friday Nairobi traffic. Then a taxi to a shopping centre to buy essential stuf since I wasn't clever enough to have that in my hand luggage. Took a taxi since it was close to dawn and I newly arrived in Nairobi. Absolutely exhausted after a long journey so I drifted to sleep on and off with a noisy bustling city living its life just outside. Second day, my luggage had arrived but they said that I had to collect it from the airport. Again taxi with David this time, traffic still crazy and to avoid the worst jam I got to see the old road to airport, full of potholes and still that's considered a okay road in comparison to some roads in Rift Valley and western Kenya. The airport journey took about 3h in total. On the way back, went through south c area in Nairobi, not a place I would walk on my own at first. Some mosque also spotted and where told that they are built pretty much everywhere in Kenya. Talked politics, tribes, Swahili and more. Late afternoon to a shopping centre to buy a camping mattress, Westland mall, expensive it was there, prices as in sweden almost. Supermarket quite similar to uk ones, much of the same groceries and also some local, but much imported. Dinner at the hostel and then relaxing in room. Have been pretty tired, it's a lot of people everywhere, standing, sitting, walking, selling stuff(food and other things), chatting. Interestingly it's a majority of men out doing those things, I guess the women are at home taking care of the children or siblings. Quite warm during the day and gets a bit cold during night, have been drinking a lot if water, height? or heat? or possibly a combination of both.
