Anna's travels
Hey guys,
Well I have made it down the east coast and im now in sunny Sydney!
On route down we stopped at some great places. After Fraser Island we headed to Noosa.
From here it was to the sunshine coast to stay with out good friend Doug who we met in Kakadu. It was so lovely we stayed with him in his fab house for a week. God we did so much here. Canoeing, surfing, fishing. Loads of fun! I could not surf though, spend most of my time laughing but Vanessa and Laura both did well and even stood up. Don't think I am much of a natural surfer. However when it comes to fishing im much better.....i caught two, and man was I excited. Vanessa actually caught one that we ate. It was great to stay with Doug, he looked after us so well and took us all over the place but good things must come to an end and so we moved on to
BRISBANE, It was back to just the two of us here as Laura moved on before us. We only spent one night here, but we did have a wander about the place and a very drunken night which ended up with a very bloody foot for me, and a sore nose for Vanessa after falling out of the bottom bunk!!!!
From here it was to Surfers Paradise. I really liked it here, great beach and lots of shops and bars. We met up with Laura again and Louise and Clair our mates from 1770. We did a pub-crawl with the hostel and I met a lad a went to college with. It's a small world hey! We didn't stay here long either and moved on quickly to Byron Bay.
In Byron, we stayed at the world famous, Arts Factory. It was a hippie commune in the 70's and now it's a very wired and wonderful hostel. One morning we got up to see the sunrise. It was well worth it as we saw lots of migrating whales. Amazing it was. After that we went on a day trip to Nimbin, its Oztralias answer to Amsterdam. A funny old place full of characters stoned of their head. Interesting day it was.
On our last day in Byron the heavens opened and we got soaked. It didn't stop for three days, so luckily we were in the most boring place in OZ, Coffs Harbour! There is nothing at all to do here but drink. So hey we did. Oh they grow bananas there so we had a look at that in the rain. Fun.
Then in was onto Sydney, been here five days now and I am liking it. I have had me pic took outside the Opera house and Harbour bridge. We stayed in bondi beach with Vanessa cousin for a few days, but now I have my own pad in a place called Coogee. Its right near the beach. Vanessa and I are sharing a room in a flat with out Irish mate Geraldine and an ozzie bloke. I think I may even have a job so things are going good.
Its been a long one this, sorry hope its not been to boring.
Lots of love
