Yesterday was day number 2 at Disney World. We went to Hollywood Studios. It was amazing to see all of the different stunt shows and different aspects of movie making.
Our day, of course, was centered around getting Angela to the High School Musical live performance. What was a little disappointing is that if we weren't lucky enough to pick the right spot that would have let us be up front where she could see easily. They drive the stage in and then close ropes around it so you really don't know where they are going to stop, you just have to guess. But no problems here, I hoisted her up on my shoulders for this 20 minute performance. Yes, she's putting on weight. I didn't realize it at the moment but it was the only way she could see. It really left me wondering how so many adults who did not have young children could be interested in High School Musical. Hmm...
I had asked Angela about seeing the car stunt show and she initially said no. When we were doing the backlot tour, we got to see the entrance ramp for the car show. They were whipping the cars around drifting into a straight line, driving backwards, etc. She said, "I wanna go see that!" YES! It was one of her favorite shows or at least the only one I got the reaction of, "That was awesome!"
We had a good time, just the two of us. She even stayed with me after the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which is one of the few "rides" there that we went on. It's similar to the Superman ride at Six Flags that goes up and down randomly and quickly, in the dark, occasionally opening a door to the outside to show you how high you really are. After some coaxing, we made it to the front of the line. She got on hesitantly. As is typical, I leaned into her to lay my arm across her lap so she could hold on to it. I kept reminding her to scream but, as she admitted later, "I forgot." At the end of the ride, she looked terrified and asked, "Is it over?" I said, "Yes, baby. It's over and you did great!" Then she took a deep breath and just began to bawl uncontrollably. Wow, there was no amount of ice cream to console it. After about 3 minutes, she collected herself and we went on about our day.
Today was a slow day. A little travel to Titusville where we will go to visit the Kennedy Space Center tomorrow. I went to play some golf today and actually, shot a pretty impressive 109. That's great for me especially on a course with this many hazards and having not touched my clubs in about a year. Angela went swimming for a few hours. This morning we were looking at her and discussing how it appeared that yesterday was finally catching up to her. Angela was high energy up until she went to bed and in 10 minutes, she was out. Early evening for the rest of us.
