Well, it's finally done. The secret of secrets has been released as we hit the Magic Kingdom today. We started the day off with everyone in a good mood. She asked what we were going to do and just told her we were going to have some fun today. On the way there, every other sign you pass mentions Disney World. Granted, she did not know what she was looking for but it was still humorous. I got a picture of her blindfolding herself and I told mom, "Geez, it's like she knows!"
I told her to look out the window when we were first passing the big sign that said, "Welcome to Disney World!" She didn't look right away because she was playing with something and by the time she looked, she said, "There's nothing out there but trees and water." Too funny. But she finally saw where we were going and the one picture I've been concerned about getting for the last 3 months, I got. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
Magic Kingdom was pretty cool. Even from the very beginning where we rode the monorail from the parking lot to the entrance, it was all very exciting. We had a wonderful time even though we barely covered half of the park, if that. We did spend time in 3 of the 5 sections so we did see quite a bit.
All of the things she thought she was scared to do, she came out wanting to do again, including the Haunted Mansion. I was pretty surprised at her bravery on the drop of Splash Mountain. That she was begging to do again too. When we were in line, she was nervous. I told her she had to trust me and that I would not let her do anything that would hurt her. Plus we know that this park was designed for kids like her and to keep her safe. After the ride she said she learned her lesson and she trusted me. Maybe a little over dramatic but that's in her character a little bit.
Later on, we were at the It's a Small World ride which is a very simple boat ride. I asked Angela if it was ok if I screamed like a girl if I got scared. Her response, "This is not going to be scary. I trusted you and now you have to trust me. It will be ok." ROFL! I love it. I told her I would trust her. Unfortunately, It's a Small World did do it's damage to me as I can't get that bloody song out of my head. Yes, I might have been whistling it in the shower. There were no witnesses though.
She's excited about tomorrow. I told her we were going to do this again while grandma and papa go golfing. But instead of Magic Kingdom, we are going to Disney's MGM Studios. In the guide I was reading, there should be a High School Musical show that we will schedule around. Currently, that is Angela's favorite thing going. Enough to where grandma bought her a book for Angela to read on her own, which she has been. Good girl!
The other small note I made a point to remember about today was that I saw a man with a t-shirt that said, "World's Greatest Dad." Damn, maybe next year.
