Kolios beach is home to two itinerant geese. They have always been here for as long as we have been coming to Skiathos, which is since 2004. Very hot but also very windy today. Decided to spend the day reading on the beach. Not many people there this morning and thankfully no ancient nudists. Unfortunately Annabel & Benjamin and there parents arrived shortly after us and set up camp right next door. Now this middle class family were on the beach on Saturday as well but thankfully not too close to us. They were quite noisy as kids of 2 & 4 are. That wasn't the problem. Today we made our choices of photographs from the contact sheet the photographer supplied. We each made a list of forty. Then we compared lists and ticked off the common numbers. Having made a snack of Greek bread with smoked pork loin and laughing cow cheese slices, with fresh cucumber and tomato, we wandered to the beach, found an unoccupied sun bed and occupied it. As the afternoon wears on one finds oneself wondering why anyone would want to do anything other than this. It is warm and comfortable. If it gets too hot the Adriatic is feet away. Like a mill pond it sits there waiting to refresh you with it's gentle pleasantly cooling water so you can return to your sun bed to resume doing nothing.
