Kolios beach is home to two itinerant geese. They have always been here for as long as we have been coming to Skiathos, which is since 2004.
Today they were joined by a very confident gull that I decided to name Stavros.
Stavros strode right up to us and belligerently demanded food. So taken aback were we that I fished out some stale bread that I had brought to feed the fish and broke a piece off for him.
He pecked at it but was not impressed and when he heard that Annanel and Benny were having chocolate Brioches he heaved the bread away to the waters edge, and proceeded to intimidate the middle classes into feeding him. But he came back when the posh stuff was gone, retrieved the piece of bread he had took to the waters edge where it got wet and now it was soft enough for him he swallowed it.
Later as we were feeding the fishes he paddled up and made the best of our bait to feed himself some fish.
