After a sad goodbye to Langkawi we got on yet another ferry to Satun in Thailand where from there we would get a connecting bus to Ao nang, Krabi! We were very gratefull to have arrived in Satun as Every Thai on the boat must of thought we were celebraties as they all wanted to take pictures with us, In the end we stood in the middle of the boat for groups of them to go by like a coveyer belt to take pictures of us. The old ladys were bombarding Andy and didnt want me in the first few but eventually i was aloud and then they loved me too haha. When we got to Satun we were the last people off of the ferry due to argueing with the visa guys as they said we only had 60 days we insisted we payed for 90 but they just kept saying "no 60 see 60 see" and waving us away we eventually gave up and when we walked out and there was no transport left for us lol so we agreed 600baht after about the millionth time of her screaming at us to go on her coach but then only to find we'd missed her coach as we had to get money out so after all the commotion being marched around by them and paying the ridiculous amount of money two men pulled up in front of us on bikes she continued screaming(like a banchee) "get on get on" so we did burgens and all (andy was literally hanging from the side)we assumed it would be a few minutes to catch up but nooo about 15 minutes later driving through carnivals nearly running over a million dogs :( and andys killing a snake(he said luce i just saw the head and then it was gone) and our bikes losing eachother for about 5 of the minutes we arrived got kicked off the bikes wind burn or what!!!we had beat the coach basically..... the coach came a very leaky wet coach with a motorbike blocking the ailse At Krabi station we got bombarded yet again and decided to look around this time and got on a tuktuk for 60bhts previous in the same station we were offered 750bhts each to get there! SCAM ARTISTS.
When we arrived at our hotel it was so nice we instantley booked an extra night, was huge....lovely western toilet, bath,TOILET ROLLS,tv aircon you name it we had it and our towels were even made into little elephants :) we grabbed a beer from the minibar straight away and sat on the balcony which we had lovely view of all the limestone cliffs and street vendors. The only thing we found wrong was we kept breaking the patio doors they were shocking literally everytime we opened them they were on the balcony lucky i got my handy andy haha.
The first night we walked around the crowded colourful streets of Ao nang and had a lovely thai meal in a very nice local resturant to treat ourselves...the next day we woke up and must admit never wanted to leave the bed :) so comfy.. we lazed all day in Ao nang and did further shopping that night...note to selves STOP SPENDING!!!
Our last day in Ao nang we took a trip to Rai Leh beach via long boat was quite amusing watching everyone jump on and when we finally tried ourselves wasnt actually that bad pfft yeh right.
Rai Leh beach was lovely really is as the post cards look (most thai postcards and pictures are taken at Rai Lei beach) so we took a walk through Rai Leh was nice no cars or anything here very rural island life along the jungle walk through we met a lot of monkeys most rather scary looking and alot of very weird bugs urgh! Andy had a soup made from the tiniest stall ever and asked for meatball now let me explain over here they quite clearly state chickens knee caps frogs intestines chicken beak minced rabbit sharks fin everything wierd and wonderfall so for him to order meatball god only knows what was inside but it actually tasted very nice....! After lots of walking, sunbathing, swimming and very unsuccesful crab picking in the lovely Rai Leh we returned to our longtail boat i must have thought i was a pro as i jumped straight up and as i did andy put his foot on the boat and i went flying haha this little old thai lady bless her kept asking if i was ok and offering us sweets the whole trip but i think my pride was hurt more than anything!!!
That night we went to the coconut bar in our street as grand prix happened to be on so we decided to stop for one ..i finally had a mai tai cocktail and corr its lovely....the rasta bar man Louie was very cool telling us stories and making us laugh non stop very wise guy! so the time flew by we met a couple from liverpool and played a few very drunken games of jenga :)alot of beers, cocktails, games and the fireshow (the best we'd seen the guy was amazing!) we decided to head home as we have yes another ferry to catch tomorrow morning heading for Phi Phi islands p.s forgot to add the coconut bars owner has the cutest ever pomeraniun dog which Michelle and i hogged all night when we eventually left i think she was glad to have her baby back!!
speak soon guys x
