Day 13 and following the stresses of yesterday it's good that today has been without incident and very much relaxing.
Other than an early trip to the local market ((shop) today has been spent by the pool either sunbathing or going for a much needed swim to cool down from the heat of the afternoon sun, and interrupted only by our packed lunch.
The poolbar was playing a medley of 60s British hits for much of the afternoon , pre-ceded by tracks from Sade which if I'm not mistaken we were listening to the classic Sade album Diamond Life including such gems as Smooth Operator...nice and smooth and perfect whilst chilling by the pool at 30c+ and sipping a cool glass of Heineken from the pool bar.
I found out today that the poolside singer will not be appearing tonight as we thought, Frederico our accommodation man told me for certain that the singer will be doing their stuff by the pool side Monday night for sure, I won't hold my breath though.
Dinner tonight is homemade and consists of rice with chicken and pizza (homemade).
After a quick Wifi session at reception the evening is spent on the balcony drinking and chatting and generally chilling out.
Alex our 16 year old was around on the balcony and it was great to ask her lots of questions about her Uni course ( bespoke tailoring ) and pass on what I hope is useful advice for her, certainly from a business perspective at least. We have already learnt a lot by running our own (Event & Wedding Planning) business but more importantly, I have whilst on holiday, been reading Alan Sugars book " What you see is what you get" on my Kobo, and I have to say it is a very inspirational book.
For anyone who has only seen Mr Sugar appear on The Apprentice the book gives it's reader an incredible insight into the successes, trials and tribulations as to what has made Alam Sugar the tycoon and successful businessman he is and what he has achieved (to use a well worn cliche) against the odds . There is no doubt that reading this book, will give the reader a different outlook on the apparent grumpy chap that appears on your TV set..
I would recommend this book to anyone who is or aspires to be an SME business owner (or has more ambitious plans). There are many valuable lessons which can be learned just from taking the time to read this book.
On a more leisurely point we were joined tonight by two lizards on our balcony wall, one of which was quickly and sadly named Eddie Lizzard. To be fair I'm a far greater fan of the creature than than the more we'll known. ' celebrity ' but the name seemed quite amusing at the time.
