Last day in Ackland and cant honestly sad i'll be sad to see the back of it. Its been good having a week to adjust to the country and timezone but ultimately its just another big city and has that samey feel that they all do. Stayed up to watch the FA cup final, fell asleep for bout 20 mins of the 2nd half but saw all the goals. Hendo and Brian listened to the Scot cup final on the net, gutted Gretna didnt sneak it on the penalties, could have mocked hendo for the rest of the year! Got to bed at 5am - brutal. Last nite was hendo's b'day which was a quality laugh, lined up about 5 or 6 shots in a row for the boy which he knocked back and stayed out for the duration which was a good effort, altho i reckon we've boozed so hard this week that we've built up a fairly strong resistance by now. Rember kids its not binge drinking if you do it every nite! We ended up in the Globe bar (again!) which is the backpacker dive hellhole of a club right next door to our hostel. Bars and clubs seem really hard to find in Auckland, maybe is poor knowledge but we have looked and we just end up going back to the few bars we know. Anyway was kareokee nite in the globe and me, hendo and tom stormed it with an outstanding rendition of the killers 'mr brightside' - brought the house down!! After a groggy moring everyone has left to go up north to pick fruit so me and hendo head down to wellington tonite. Pretty weird just going back to me and hendo again but its good having a destination and motivation to get moving again. Laters.
