Kia Ora!
Well we're here in Auckland, New Zealand! Our flight landed at 6am local time and its now 9:30am and we are sitting in a Starbucks across from our hotel because they don't have any rooms free until after lunch, so instead of lugging out 10 tonne backpacks round with us we decided we'd park our arses and relax for a bit.
We spent our last day in LA flipping between Starbucks, Walgreens (Em's got aircon poisoning again), Disney, Restaurants etc. Our flight wasn't until 22:30 so we had a lot of time to kill but it was worth it in the end. We were originally booked in economy for the 13hr flight to Auckland, but the day before we left the UK we got offered a 2-for-1 upgrade to premium for £200 so we took it. We were regretting the upgrade after the outbound economy flight was so good, but boy are we glad we took it now we are here!! The flight was basically empty and in the premium section we were in there were 5 rows of 2 and only 2 rows were taken so we had plenty of room. The flight, although the longest we've done, went by pretty quick as we were both able to sleep, although poor Emma had a rotten sore throat so spent most of the flight under the blanket, sorry I mean duvet, it was premium you know! We don't do economy you know, lar tee da! LOL! At least we both got decent (business class oo-er!) meals this time which was good. Apart from some rotten turbulence about 2hrs to go it was a decent flight and we touched down safely. I have to say the crew who were all Kiwi's were fantastic and so friendly so if thats any indication of what all Kiwi's are like then I think we're going to like it here..........zzzzzzz........sorry ran out of coffee then!
Will update the blog again once we've had some sleep.
