Today was a really awesome day in the Virginia/Washington DC Area. I got a good amount of information and got to go to some places I was looking forward to going to. We first went to the Military Troops Cemetery in Albany Virginia. We got to watch this fascinating event know as the changing of the guard. It is a extremely formal ceremony in which the current guard gives over to the next one. They do this about every hour. We headed out from there to see the WWII memorial and headed off to Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon was the home of George Washington. Not only was it his house, but also a farm and an entire small city. We got to see his grave and tour through the rooms he walked in and the died in. We got to go to the farm and then to the Education center. There was a lot of cool things there, but we had to sadly rush through most of it. We went to Alexandria where we had dinner. Dinner was a mix of barbecue and African dishes. Overall it was pretty good and left me full for the remainder of the day. We bused over to the Town Square where we meant our Ghost Tour Guide. We heard a lot of cool stories about different supernatural occurrences, but mist of it was historical info about the town and the origins of Alexandria. Today we did a lot of walking and we all were tired and ready to crash when we got to the hotel.
