Andy and Cate Around the World in 80 Days
Today we made the long trip North and inland a bit to Kroombit Cattle Station. The bus took forever but we mainly slept for most of it so it wasn't to bad. The bus driver thought it would be a good idea to dress up all hick country style so when we arrived we looked the part. He took us to an Op-shop on the way and Cate and I bought a few bits and bobs for about a quid each. We really wanted a cowboy hat each but we were'nt quick enough!
When we arrived we pretty much jumped straight on a horse to muster the goats. Cate was given Ledger, and I was given Paddy, the biggest horse I have ever seen. He was bloody huge. We did get on pretty well though, we were very similar...he was a lazy clumsy b***** too! There were a few testing moments, Paddy wanted to go left, I wanted to go right and neither of us were going to back down. But I won! We had a great time mustering Goats, i felt like a real cowboy. I even starting singing Rawhide to get the goats to shift. Finished off riding back to the station as the sun set behind us. All very Clint.
After the ride we had the Rodeo where I got to wrestle a few goats and Cate lassoed a couple of randy goats! Was all good Craic.
After the rodeo we had a go at clay pigeon shooting. Cate went first and it nearly ripped her shoulder off. I was next and managed to hit 2 out of 5! Best of the whole bus! Thanks!
We moseyed on down to get some dinner, good old roast beef and all the trimmings. Later Cate had a ride on a mechanical bull. Wasn't too successful and she thought she'd broken her wrist but we don't think its that bad.
After a few games round the fire we all shipped off to bed to get some rest for the 12 hour journey tomorrow.
