On the bus to Ankara now.
Flight to Cappodocia from Antalya was easy. Got to my hotel about 1:30 in the morning. Although I arrived on the sixth it was actually the night of the fifth. So they weren't exactly ready for me. But they put me in a room anyway. Great breakfast spread in the morning. You can see from the picture.
I took the green tour. It took us to the largest underground city, about 70 km away. Then a short ride to hike down Love Valley and to a restaurant on the river for lunch. Then we went to climb into one of the many cave dwellings. A nice tour.
Next day I hiked around a little, to one of the open air museums and up into the canyons, through Rose Valley and into Cavesin, a little village, before hitching a ride with some Germans. Showered. Napped. Late lunch. Another nap. Out into a light sprinkle for a late night snack. Tough life!
Once I'm in Ankara I'm going to grab a taxi to the bank to get my new ATM card. We're supposed to arrive around 3, 3:30 and the banks close at five. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, figuratively speaking, of course.
After getting to Ankara I grabbed a cab to the bank. He got a little lost. The bank, bless their hearts, had sent my ATM card to another branch for safekeeping. So I took another cab there and what do you know? I'm in the money. The cab from there to where I'm staying stopped several times to get directions and finally dropped me off a few blocks away from where I'm at, because he'd taken a wrong turn.
