AHOY THERE!! Whaatttt a week: never thought id experience so many different types of weather, emotions, places and people on a small boat in only 8 days. Arriving on the saturday, weather forecast said it was going to storm for the next 2 days.. and it did - lame... Getting onto my boat was a mission, all the boats were docked on eachother, and my boat was the last one in the line. So balance came into it alot when getting my bags from boat to boat. As it was raining, had to stay in Split on the first night, just had chilled drinks getting to know everyone, half were about aussies, a couple americans, NZ and croatian family. I was the youngest on the boat, average age was about 27ish; had an elderly couple but they acting just as young as the rest of us. Snuck a nice bottle of vodka onboard as we werent allowed to bring anything on the boat, they hit you with a massive bar tab at the end.
El Capitan started the boat at 6am, the engine is extremely loud so woke everybody up- we got use to it though, and the swaying of the boat can kind of put you back to sleep any waysss. Found out where the shower was, exactly were the toilet was lol. Just had a hand help shower in the toilet room, was alright though was big enough and the toilet was kind of an added bonus as a shower seat! Still raining, but arrived in Korcula, possible home of Marco Polo! Hung around there, nice island, found a fast food place that had literally everything on the menu, but then he goes "Only cheeseburger and HamBurger".. nice.. Back to the boat for drinks and then poker at night! I taught all the oldies how to play during the day, so everyone was pro by night. Didnt have poker chips so used Hannah Montana and Hello Kitty uno cards as cash :P Worked a charm!
Next day, SUNSHINE!! Tanning travel to Dubrovnik, swim stop on the way - couple triple backflips off the top deck, nothing special. Went to visit the Old town wall in Dubrovnik, managed to sneak onto half of it for free ;) really amazing wall, so solid, really amazing place. Found a strange croatian styled basketball court too.. I put a pic on facey - they'd struggle playing away games! haha. After the touristy stuff, back to a bar to get out of the rain. Been drinking straight vodka with ice and lemon, its actually pretty nice, or maybe its just good with the vodka they have in croatia. Any ways, stopped raining couple hours later so back on the boat and found out the crew was sleeping, so we helped ourselves to the bar ;) Next thing i know, theres a group of people from the other boat partying on our top deck, im on the top of one of the masks and El Capitan came out, didnt notice anything and just turned our music off and went back to bed! Woke up not feeling the best, but managed to head back to old town with the others and find Buza Bar - which is a bar hidden outside of the city wall on a cliff, pretttyyy awesome place. The next island was really strange, there was nothing there but a beach that was trashed.. There were people nearly forcing us to help clean it but we were on holiday.. didnt really feel like cleaning to be honest!! Early sleep as so tired from night before/was nothing else to do on the island.
Next day, HVAR!! Amazing island, beautiful day, steady winds was perfect. Stopped for another swim stop so a few more triple backflips then off to dock in Hvar. A awesome pirate boat docked on us which was waving the aussie flag, pretty cool people. Made our way to the top of the hill where the castle is for light drinks at sunset. Bought a Cevapi for dinner!! (been craving to try one of these for a week) and a couple bottles of Johnny Walker. Punished them off pretty quickly and off to find a popular bar! Found one which sold litre bottles of cocktails with massive straws! Had them for most of the night, partying with the pirate boat and met two girls from England! So having a good night with everybody, went back to the boat to get my bottle of vodka with one of the english girls, next thing i know iv passed out on my bed, I wake up and there was no money in my wallet and one of my vodka bottles was gone... DEVOED!! haha. Luckily i spent it all my money on booze, so I think the english girl only took 10 euro! Moral of the story - spend all your money on drinks before a girl steals it ;)
Next day was perfect again, slept on the top deck to recover and arrived in Brac!! Brac is home of the white stone that built the WhiteHouse, so plenty of cool whitestone gifts around the place. Dragged ourselves to a nice beach spot, the beaches are so different in Croatia but in a good way. This was actually a non-alcoholic day!! Good work team!!! Headed back to Split to end our trip, wasnt a perfect day but average. Docked next to all the other boats and started our last night of the tour! Topdeck drinking and listening to "we're on a boat" song haha, we were the coolest boat by far. Found out from the boat next to us that someone spent 2500 Kuna on booze that week (400 Euro).. Insane... Was having a good time on the boat untill we had an arguement with El Capitan and staff. So decided to hit the streets, met a really, really smart old french guy with a cool hat, wouldnt stop talking. Then off to Red Bar where everybody was from all the boats. Massive night, shots, breaking chairs, Will spilt cranberry juice over my new white shoes, was devoed but washing machine should do the trick. Bargained for a late night sandwich and did the "DAAAMMMNNN GUURRLLL" pick up line haha, have the video so will try post it on facebook. Back to the boat, more raiding of the bar then somehow I luckily made it back to my bed! Early morning, said our goodbyes to our week long friends and then back to my three-turtle hostel to recover! Watched 'The Expendables", besstt movieee, been shopping and cooking a couple more pasta dishes; im pretty much a pro chef now!
So now im basically out of summer, hopefully my tan lasts me untill I get back home haha. Was an amazing week, Croatia is amazing and would be crazzyyy in peak summer. Heading on a Ferry back to Italy in about 5 hours, havnt got a seat so will have to sleep on the deck somewhere, should be fun! Will let you all know how it goes ;)
