Oops! Charlie and I did our best to get ourselves emitted to A&E today, before you panic we both scraped through with just a little bruising! At play group Charlie fell head over heels from a mini climbing frame [3ft high] it gave me a heart attack but she landed on a safety mat and was up happily running around straight afterwards. She then had two further trips, one when she was running and one when she was sitting. It was like her head was heavier today ...

Coffee morning time again. Today everyone turned up and there were millions of toddlers running about playing, dropping food and throwing tantrums. Charlie's explorative nature prevented me from sitting around chatting for long as I had to retrieve her from noising around other peoples bedrooms, I think she was on the hunt for shoes! I started the week as normal for my new little routine, in the library for rhyme time followed by coffee with the usual ladies. The women who does the kids sessions is really engaging and Charlie loves watching and imitating her, in fact she is getting really good at copying in general. In the afternoon we met up again at the park, Charlie recognisees everyone now and gets excited to see her new little friends although this doesn't last long! Soon the toddlers...

It was a lovely day so we headed west to Piha beach renowned for its black sand [which hurts bare feet] and rough surf. It takes about an hour to get there with the last 20 minutes drive being through pretty rainforest. We went to the main beach first [like everywhere in NZ you can park right next to everything for free] and gave Charlie a run around and a splash... that is when we could prise her away from her favourite hobby of sand eating. Harry and I had a rare chilled out morning drinking coffee and reading the paper in a local cafe whilst Charlie entertained herself in the obligatory cafe play area [largely by pointing at birdies]. After Charlie's nap we headed back to Narrow Neck to our old landlords who was having a bbq in celebration of his 40th birthday. It was very nice but I was a little on edge the whole time.
