Well, just left New york and have arrived in our 1st hostel in Boston, we are moving again in the morning to another one not far from here. Nice city, very different vibe than to NYC.
Arrived in NYC late monday night, having missed my flight! Great start i know. Did alot of exploring on my own on the tuesday, walked all the way down from our hostel up on 103rd of Amsterdam Av, West of Central Park down to Times Sq etc. Amazing. Love the city, its hectic but you just need to go to Central park to excape all the chaos and just sit and read your book or people watch. Very warm weather, didnt think i'd need the shorts this soon into my travels! Found a great Irish pub called The Parlour and was out there on the nwed night with all the other lads, ended up being a late night. Got talking to a native New yorker called Marko, great having an insight into everything from 9/11 to The Irish and the music scene. And New Yorkers have a very different mentality to the normal American it would seem ''I'm a New Yorker, not an American'' Marko stressed. Talked about travelling etc and picked up a few pointers. Got the hang of tipping, we all got a free round at the end of the night from the barmaid (Evilenne i think her name was). Played alot of pool, some doubles with some local guys. Best thing is just dandering about on your own and taking in the sights, getting up in the morning, packing your daysack and heading out with no plan whatsoever. Havnt explored Boston yet, but aim to 2mrw once we'r settled in. More to come on NYC days 2 and 3 later....
