We've left San Diego after a very busy three days, for Anaheim. The rental car has been dropped off and we spent the afternoon by the pool in the sun relaxing. Jack and I are both sunburnt, not badly but enough to remind us that sunblock is needed. (It's always Jack and I.)
For the next six days we're going to relax and spend a couple of days at Disneyland. We're off to buy Inline Hockey gear tomorrow, something the boys have been looking forward to.
I'd really love a cheese scone and a Wild Bean trim flat white.....never mind, time for that in a couple of months. I'll just make do with the giant size sandwiches and giant size coffees. We'll all come home giant size too!!
Thanks for the mesaages and comments. It's nice to hear from you all.
Day One
Today was meant to be a rest day. Just a quick trip to HockeyGiant so the boys could get their gear, a trip to get some groceries and then rest. We started with a swim in the hotel pool where Mike (aka Miguel) meet a Mexican man (Jorge) with his two children, Jesus and Andreas. Mike spoke with Jorge (George) for a quite a while, he seemed keen to practice his english. (Jorge, not Miguel.) After the swim we went to HockeyGiant. After four hours in the shop we were all shattered. Too much to choose from and three boys all going in different directions. The staff were really patient as were Mike and I. I wonder if the boys will be so patient with me when I spend four hours in Macy's? The rest of the time was spent in the pool, or spa. It is extremely hot here and we are starting to look out of place in our jeans.
Day Two:
Off to Disneyland today. (After a swim in the pool of course.) Jack and Ben were very patient going to the rides/attractions that we could do as a family...Small World, ToonTown etc. In return they get to go back and spend time without George and I. They did go on Space Mountain which had a wait line of 45 minutes, quite normal here. It's amazing how patient a boy can be when they're waiting for a ride on a roller coaster. George loved Toontown and we got some great photos of him with Jack and Ben. My favourite is still Small World, it just makes you smile :-) I thought this time I'd get to go on the teacups but George wasn't keen on going on a girls ride....the cups are pink!
Day Three
Today was meant to be our Universal Studio Tour...first major hiccup. Mike had booked us on the bus but it didn't turn up so we've had to rebook for Thursday. In the end George and I spent the day at the hotel, swimming and resting while Mike, Jack and Ben finished off the Hockey gear shopping. It really is so hot here. George and I were at the pool at 10.30 and the burn in the sun was extreme...my sunburn has blistered so I guess I wasn't prepared for this weather at all.
