I'm writing this blog whilst enjoying a coffee alone since my two lazy companions are still sleeping.
Ok so we arrived in Narita yesterday and after a 10 hour flight we had to travel for another 2 hours to get to our hotel.
My impression of Japan so far is that it is absolutely stunning. The culture and people over hear are absolutely amazing.
Everything in Japan is not only different but so much better than what it's like back home. The trains here are very sophisticated and yet simple to use. It is well organized and every little detail has been implemented to make our trip comfortable. They have suitcase area, there's toilet, a vending machine, Power points to charge your devices and even a hook to hang your jacket.
I'm so used to seeing graffiti everywhere in Melbourne when looking outside the train window. Over here there wasn't even a single tag on the walls.
When we were strolling around Shinjuku in the rain. I noticed that outside of most shops had a little machine where you insert your wet umbrella. Once you take it out it covers the umbrella in plastic so you don't wet the floors in the store. Amazing!!
The city is so clean, there are no bins around the city yet you won't find any rubbish littered around. The smoking areas are designed to keep the city clean. I dont think its compulsory to smoke there however you won't find an ashtray anywhere else. Back in Melbourne people will smoke on the go and butt on the streets.
After a crazy night out drinking, we bumped into Fumiki on our way back to the hotel. Fumiki is the owner of the bar around the corner from out hotel. Although we were already smashed we drank some more with our new friend. He even added us on facebook. He was friendly and spoke fluent English.
The rest of the night was a blur.
