27 HOURS ON A TRAIN!!!!!!!
...Do I really have to explain? Well, I have Finally made it to Dali. It's a very nice little mountain town and my first stop north to Shagri la and then over the mountains to Cheng du. And for all those who are worrying. Yes I am being careful! I have yet to accept candy from strangers... Grapes however...they don't count do they?
China is a very generous counrty I've so far been offered, nuts, grapes, bread, cakes, tea (oh god the amount of tea...), figs, cranberries, some other kind of fruit ( I have no idea what it was) and even a cigarette from some toothless old man... But no candy!!! See I'm being good!
And in the southern cities where there are a few more sightings of white people the picture taking finally stopped. Instead I have been getting random people in the street yelling HELLO! at me. Natrally I'll say hello back, and then as they are walking away they yell out nice to meet you! (I guess I was a perfect subject to practice rudimentary english on) But now I'm back to more remote areas and it's the pictures again.
Well, I'll actually get back to updating at the next stop. This blog was more to let everyone know that yes I did survive the 27 hour train...shudder....
Oh and the pics are mostly of the three Pagodas, and the Giant temple complex behind them. Enjoy!
