HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
The Christmas CD was on, the fry up was cooking, and everyone was smiling and hung over! It was early enough for us, we didn’t have to be down at Bondi Beach til 12 at least to meet with the rest of the gang, so we took our time getting ready, Lisa went out and played on her Rip Stick (some kind of snake board but much harder than it looks!) and she loved it lol! Then it was time to hit the Sunburnt Christmas!! Whoop whoop!
Us girls jumped on the bus, in our swimmers and santa hats on ready to party hard on the beach! So weird being out n about on Christmas day in the sun but wow what a feeling! It didn’t really feel like Christmas, but it was a good feeling! People were everywhere again in their hats n board shorts on, most of them drunk already – it was still early! We were all comparing it to back home but no one had done this before so we were well up for it!
Once we got to Bondi, we saw the que – it was big! But it was going down real quick so that was all good, and the other thing we realised was that the party wasn’t actually on the beach, it was in the pavilion instead. Oh well, we could still venture in and out onto the beach if we wanted.
Anyways, inside the party there was 3 stages, a few bars and a place to go and get the bbq lunch that was included in the ticket price. It was packed too, iv never seen so many santa hats! It was wicked they were on everyones head! The atmosphere was bouncing, such a wicked start! Couldn’t wait to get a beer and get into these dance tunes!! The DJ at the dance stage was mint! Absolutely cracking the crowd off!! If you see some of the videos (there are about 25 hence why they not uploaded!) you will see what I mean by how mint it was! Ooooh I love it!!
We were all together, and lapping up the sun on Christmas day, whilst having a beer, and a dance to a top DJ with about 3,500 people in Australia – yeah I wont forget this either!!
Half way through I got a tx message from Ciaron too who I grew up with (he was my prom date act!) and he was out on the beach so I went out to see him – that was weird – we knew we weren’t at home but it was cool to see someone I knew!
So many songs have made this day, and when I hear them this is all that I will remember – soo many memories, such good times. To all those people who dis being away from home at Christmas, I get what you mean, but this is something you definitely need to try!!
After too many drinks, too much sun, too much bouncing and bopping, 10pm was when it was called a day! The place emptied and most of us ventured to McDonalds – I mean most of the 3,500 people yes!! And yes – they were open – weird these ozzies eh! Lol. Luckily the que moved real quick so we didn’t have to hang about for long, then the buses were free so home it was to cool off and sober up but by far to lap up everything from that we had experienced today!!
A Christmas Day defo to remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVIN’ IT LOVIN’ IT LOVIN’ IT! LOVIN’ IT LARGE!!!!
Sore heads – check!
Sunburnt Christmas – check!
Boxing Day we were off to the races! The Royal Randwick Races to be precise! It was free for all people with foreign passports so we made the most of it, especially as the race course is at the bottom of our road! The usual crowd were posh’d up and ready to do some betting!
The only betting we all did was sweep stakes between the 8 of us lol! A good laugh. The outfits and hats though were wicked – people made a real good effort with it! Boxing Day with a difference!
We were all pretty hung over though to be fair so once that had finished we went back to the flat to chill out and catch back up – just like a normal boxing day back home I suppose!! Lol!
