hello again!

i've just started my second week here and i can honestly say i've never seen so much rain!!!!! Queensland has been in a drought for so god knows how long now and all the rain has decided to come at once!! i've had to convince everyone that i didn't bring it all with me!!

having said that, even when it's raining it's 34degrees! it didnt rain at all yesterday and it hit 40degrees and my god i almost melted!

i'm still in brisbane - mainly because the weather on the coast is worse than it is here so i figured i'd wait it out for a few more days and head to the sunshine coast on tues for a bit of real life sand!

i've booked the rest of my trips now also - on saturday i'm flying up to the Whitsunday Islands for a 3 day sailing trip around the islands and i get to go diving on the Great Barrier Reef and other such super lovely things like that!! i'm so excited!

from there i fly to melbourne via sydney to meet up with a guy called paul i met here in brisbane at new years - he's going to show me around melbourne and attempt to teach me to surf (i laughed) then from there i'm off to sydney for a few days and from there i'm flying to brisbane and then back to sunny england on the same day!

alex and i went to the Lone Pine Koala sanctuary on friday which was cool. we took the ferry down the river for an hour and went in to the park which had koalas and kangaroos and wallabys (it was just like sewerby park... honest!) i stroked a very sleepy looking koala but unfortunately i was told i was not allowed to take him home with me! booooo! sorry guys! i did try!

i've yet to find a bar that plays decent music and has decent beer other than the one here at the hostel but hell... i'll keep looking! i've been introduced to a drink called 'goon' which is apparently the drink of choice for only two types of people... tramps and backpackers! hahah! it's bloody awful but does the job! i tell you what tho, these guys out here can drink! weathered travellers can smell beer at 100 paces! canadians are the worst! closely followed by the scots and the irish! i'm sharing a room with a lovely scottish couple and they're looking after me! haha!

made lots of lovely new friends, having the time of my life and doing absolutely nothing that involves effort! its all very laid back out here! i love it!

so yes, i hope i'll have some more exciting things to write about later next week so for now i'll say g'bye!
