So it's nearly midnight on my final night in the UK! It's been a whirlwind final few weeks here, saying goodbye to everyone and trying to sort out all of my stuff, topped off with a inevitably stressy final evening of packing and organising. I finally have an almost-packed rucksack (picture up especially for Sam and everyone at Newnham to see the leaving-presents being put to good use!!) after spending this entire week packing and unpacking it in an attempt to cram as much stuff in as possible. You'll all be pleased to hear that the original ten bras are now down to six, the six bikinis down to three, and after some thoroughly stern advice on two separate occassions (firstly from Lou on Saturday and secondly from the 69 girls this eve), I have finally given in and resentfully removed my sparkly bag and silky pyjamas. Apparently they won't do me any favours when trying to make friends in backpacker hostels. Who'd have thought?
So I'm almost ready. A train ride to London followed by a tube to Heathrow awaits me tomorrow, before I fly off at around half six in the evening. I'm so tired and have spent so long thinking about so many things that I still haven't had chance to get properly excited (or even really realise what I'm doing - cue some epiphany/panic attack scenario on the plane), but once I'm there on the beach and in the sunshine (wearing my factor 50, of course - cheers Wifey!) I'm pretty sure it'll all become real. Really amazingly real.
Wish me luck on the flight - no cigarrette for well over 24 hours...all I can say is that I feel unbelievably sorry for the person who has to sit next to me on the final leg of the journey...!!
Speak to y'all when I'm down under!! Bonza babys xxxxxxx

Felicity M-S Yay! Have a lovely time. Could you treat the 24-hour cigarette-free journey as the first day of your non-smoking life? (Not giving up!)
Holly Blomfield Goooood luck Amy! Sure you'll have a truly amazing time! I'll be in touch if I'm thinking of heading over and let me know about NZ too :) enjoy the flight! Xxx
Blooms Good luck girly, drink lots of water on the plane and do some leg exercises, it's a long flight! Looking forward to your next post, my aunt's all cool with you visiting, take care darl' xxx
Amy Thanks guys!! I've made it to HK Airport - Ails I drank loads of water, wore flight socks, and was basically dancing in my seat twirling all moveable limbs :). I also survived amazingly well on nicotine lozengers - didn't even feel like I needed a smoke = Felicity, you may be right!! But just had the weirdest experience in HK airport: went for a smoke in the smoking booth and I was literally the only woman and only white person in there. And yes, they all basically just stared at me :S. One hour until flight to Perth - hope I have better luck with my flight neighbour this time! xxxxx p.s. MILO: I spent hours and hours just listening to the Avatar soundtrack!! So relaxing as the whole cabin was dark and we were flying over china and I was just gazing at the mountains and OMG just so beautiful :)
