It's our last day on this tour! I had mixed emotions, I was very sad we had to say our goodbyes, but I was so glad not to be camping anymore! By the end my body was pretty annoyed at me for making it sleep on the ground a lot. We had our last breakfast together, our last pack up, our last boarder crossing, our last truck ride... It's scary to think that 3 weeks went so quick!
We got to our hotel in Nairobi & said goodbye to our fabulous driver, Antony, and checked in. I wasn't well this day, I had a terrible migraine which I needed to sleep off. But first, SHOWER! An actual shower, that was HOT, that was private, that was free if BUGS! I was in heaven. Yes, I'm getting very excited for a shower! I spent so long in there, scrubbing my body from head to toe, washing my hair, shaving, and enjoying being clean!
After my lovely shower I crashed for a nap. I was so exhausted! I was hoping a sleep in a proper bed would help me feel better, but when I woke I still felt like crap. I took some painkillers though, and have felt amazing ever since!
Tonight we were all going for one last dinner at the world famous 'Carnivore' restaurant. Seriously, google it! It was incredible! They bought out so much food it was insane! We started with breads & soup, before moving onto the meat. The amount of meat I had in that one sitting was enough to last me a year! Started with sausages, pork ribs, chicken wings then moved onto beef, pork, lamb, ostrich meatballs! And I should mention, when they come around, the meat it actually on a sword, and they use a machete to cut off how ever much you want! Then came the exotic meats. We had baked ostrich, crocodile, ox balls, lamb liver! Wow. It was intense! I tried most of it, but couldn't really handle eating the ox balls, I almost threw up with that.. We also had a lot of cocktails, something fun for our last night. After all that food had come out, we got the dessert menu. I chose the ice cream, chocolate & mocha. We also had a girls birthday that night, so there was also a cake that came out! There was so much food. I'm surprised I could still move after it all. If you ever come to Nairobi or Johannesburg defs go to 'Carnivore' you will not regret it!!! It's all one set price as well, you can eat however much you want! It's something you have to experience.

Heather Good heavens Amy, it's a wonder you weren't poisoned - eating all that crap.....the exotic meats I mean. But you chose wisely with desert and cocktails. I hope you're getting recipes for these cocktails???? And it seems like you were genuinely sorry to finish the 'trek' across Africa. I'm just pleased that you survived it....Keep safe.
