Argh! I was so excited for this day to start! Even though I had to get up at 7am, I didn't even care I was so tired! I packed my stuff and headed down to breakfast. Shortly after we were on our way! We stopped for water, and a short drive to Mt Nebo, which is where Moses climbed and saw the promised land before dying and being laid to rest there. Even if you aren't religious, it's still pretty cool to visit & read up on. It offered amazing views, and we could see Jerusalem & Israel from the top! It was only a short time here, then we were off to visit the Dead Sea.
It wasn't a long bus ride, and we were there. One of Jordan's most famous attractions. We were on a tourist beach, which meant we could wear our swimmers without being harassed. So we thought anyway, we were all down on the shore with our towels around us when this local guy starts taking photos if us! We, understandably, got a bit upset, so the lifeguard or security guard or something actually kicked him off the beach! I thought that nice, making sure we always felt comfortable. We were a bit scared to hop in, half because we were worried it would be cold, half because we weren't sure what would happen! When we did venture in, it was a bit chilly, but the further put we got, the warmer it also got. Then we lay down. OMG how cool it was! Effortlessly we floated. We didn't have to try, we just lay on top of the water! It was incredible! The buoyancy was intense! If you turned too much, the water would flip you over! It was so much fun! We could even cross our legs and SIT in the water! No worry about sinking, drowning or anything! Best experience ever! After we were in the water for awhile, we got out to get our bodies covered in the famous 'healing' mud. Supposedly, if you put this mud on your body, any pain or discomfort will go away. I wasn't doing it for its healing powers, I was just doing it for fun! We got covered head to toe in this salty mud, and had so much fun! I can't remember the last time I've laughed so much in a day!
After washing all the mud off and getting redressed, we got to have lunch in the restaurant. It was a buffet, and it was amazing! So many local foods to try! We even got dessert ;) after we browsed the gift store & not buying anything, we were on our way again!
This time were heading to visit the oldest castle in Jordan, which is also mostly ruins due to earthquakes. It was still intact a bit & pretty interesting. We walked through, saw the kitchen, the dining room, the rooms ect & decided the people back then were tiny because the doorways were so close to the ground! It was fun, and we got heaps of group photos there.
The castle was the last thing we did today before heading towards Petra to our hotel. We got there, checked in, then headed out to dinner at a local place & had the Jordanian specialty, mansef. This is a traditional dish of rice, lamb (or goat) & a hot thin yogurt. Absolutely delish! We filled up in that before heading to bed for a good nights rest so we can explore Petra the next day!

Heather Hey Amy, just ploughed through your last few blogs. Wow, you are amazing. So intrepid!!!! I've never thought of seeing any of the stuff you're raving about. Must be a young person thing!!!??? I am so pleased that you are having such an amazing time. Riding camels, floating in dead water, wallowing in mud....good grief!!! Did your skin change? I've had people try to sell me products made from Dead Sea mud that are supposed to be the be-all and end-all. Did you buy any? Did you find the big shopping centre in Dubai? What were you actually doing there? I see you flew into Aba Dabhi (or however it's spelt), which is about an hour's car ride away from Dubai. Will you be coming back through there? I presume you're in Egypt at the moment??? Stay safe.....
