So here we are in Perth. Well, Fremantle. We have been here for 4 weeks now, which is mad. Time really flies when you are travelling!! But then it also seems to go really slowly because you manage to make so many memories in each place, even if you are only there for a few days. Everything has been crazy busy here. Thankfully me and Sarah did manage to find jobs!! We both got jobs in a beautiful restaurant called Indiana's tea house on the beach in Cottesloe. It was Fab to work there. Very very posh place and we learnt a lot!! The sunsets at night were really breathtaking and we got to see them from where we were working! We were very lucky! The staff were also great and really lovely. The only problem was that Cottesloe is about a 15 minute train ride from Fremantle and then about a 20 minute walk to the restaurant as well as a 25 minute walk from our house to the station. So it was quite a distance. Especially being as we were finishing work after midnight most days. We both looked for new jobs. Sarah found a job in a pub and left Indiana's and about a week later I also found a new Job. It's in Fremantle sailing club and I get to do lots of different things like serving at weddings and working behind the bar and doing a lot of food preparation in the kitchens, which I guess is all good work experience!! Its also 15 minutes walk from the house, which is great. Saying that its fairly boring and I really miss the staff and all the busyness of Indiana's. As well as the beautiful views!! Never mind!!We only have a few weeks left here now so we are trying to make the most of the beautiful weather before we head off to chilly New Zeland!! We are having a very relaxed and laid back time here in Fremantle. We are spending a lot of our time on the beach or just on the cappuccino strip in cafes trying to soak up the atmosphere in the town!! We are trying to make the most of every second and appreciate everything but its quite difficult to do when we have become so used to our lives out here! Feeling very sad that our time in Australia is nearly over, but im sure its not the last time we will be here!! Especially being as we are still longing after Sydney even though it has been over a month since we left!! We have a favourite spot in Fremantle for nights out, its called the Newport but it is fondly named the ''spewport'' mainly on account of how many messy nights out people seem to have there!! It's a popular Derro (equivalent of charve) hangout, so I guess that's why we feel so at home there!! Especially as we come from the town of HQ!! We eat far too much Gelato. Despite the fact Maria's son owns the shop and we get heaps of gelato at home anyway me and Sarah are still spending the majority of our money there!! Sarah is sticking to the red passion flavour however I prefer to work my way through the menu and I'm trying as many different flavours as possible. You can see that our lives have become very sad now we are no longer living the backpacker lifestyle!! Roll on New Zeland!! We are very well fed here!! Breakfast, lunch AND dinner. A bit different to our life back in Brisbane when we had 2 eggs and a packet of coles 27c noodles a day to live on!! We cooked for Maria and Uncle Tony the other night, but being as our cooking skills leave much to be desired we decided to do it our way and get them to drink as many sex on the beach cocktails as we could force them to drink. (Made us remember our Zante girls!!) Uncle Tony actually really likes them and I think he will be joining us in drinking them a little more often now!! Bonaffee Pie is still our speciality!!We have a few more weeks left here. Fingers crossed they will be action packed!! As well as lots of work Liz our friend is heading over from Melbourne and we are going to go to Rottnest island, also going to a gig and most likely on a few day trips exploring the city being as we have only been to Perth once!! (Its only 30 minutes away!) Hoping to cram in as much time as possible seeing all our friends here that have headed over from Sydney for a bit of the West coast lifestyle! After that its off to New Zeland to meet Ryan & George and start our bus tour of the North and South Island. Our tour is great and we do loads of exciting things. Zorbing, Black water rafting, visit Maori towns, sandboarding, hot pools, Franz Joseph Glacier……..Loads more!! Cant wait. Hope everyone / everything is really great. Love to you all!! xxx
