Once again, its been a lifetime since I last updated!!
Last time we had just arrived back in Sydney, so I shall try my best to update you of our adventures since then!! We arrived back in Sydney on a bank holiday Monday. So after checking in we headed straight over to coogee beach, had a bite to eat and had some sunbathing time, which we definitely missed in Brisbane!! That night we decided to have a bit of a side bar night out! So we all headed down to sidebar, Hannah, me, Sarah and Emily. As per usual it was a wonderful night out!! Emily forcing us all to do Jagerbombs, never a good idea!! Sarah and Hannah spent a lot of time on the dance floor, throwing down some interesting moves!! Haha. Tuesday was a very relaxing chilled out day, spent mostly in the Side bar café relaxing in the sun with various members of staff at intervals throughout the day. Sarah went to Winsor again for the night (all be it on the wrong train) so I went over to stay at Emilys (the receptionists) house with her family. Had a lovely dinner and walk on the beach and things, was nice to be in a family house again!! Wednesday was another chilled day. Me and Hannah headed in to Sydney to have cupcakes for breakfast!! Again the majority of the afternoon was spent with various members of staff in Sidebar!! Sarah returned, we survived our 24 hours apart!! And I met Patrick for dinner which was nice. We packed up that night and on Thursday we headed to Melbourne!! We stayed with Rhonda and Stefan and our first day there we mainly slept!! We also had a really nice tea which was lovely and we got to catch up and tell them all about our travels and get some good tips!! Friday we did the neighbours tour!! We also got to meet Susan Kennedy, impressive!! That night we met up with Pete from the first time we were in Sydney!! We went out in Melbourne to the bar on ice which was immensely cool!! Literally!! It was -20degrees in there, we got all dressed us in snow boots and things!! Al;l the chairs and glasses and the whole bar were made out of ice! It was really good fun. Next day we went to meet Liz who we spent Christmas and New Year with who is living in Melbourne all year. We went down to St.Kilda and had lunch and a general look around. We did intend on going to the rugby this evening but being as we are so incredibly slow we were late and we refused to pay to see ½ a match!! Me and sarah got to see Melbourne by night though which was really really pretty!! On Sunday we met up with sarahs grandparents friends in the city who took us for lunch and then showed us a few things to do around Melbourne. We went to some markets and took a free tram all around the city. We headed back to Malvern and had a lovely dinner outside in the garden. On Monday we went to the Great Ocean Road! Despite the complete panic we were going to miss the trip we did actually make it on time and had a fab day driving along the road and seeing all the sights. It really was a very beautiful drive and the beaches were gorgeous!! We also got to see Koalas in the wild and visit the popular show ''round the twist''s lighthouse!! Haha. Tuesday we slept in late as we got back very late last night. We then headed in to the city for a few hours for general errands etc…. because it was our last night we all went for Turkish food which was so nice!! It was a really good night.. Our time in Melbourne was over so Wednesday early morning we headed to the bus-station to get a ride to Adelaide! Had a VERY boring 12 hour bus journey, it was awful!! Felt like we were on the road to nowhere!! After finally arriving we had time to sample some of the hostels free apple pie before crashing out! On Thursday we went to meet one of our room mates from Brisbane for coffee and a catch up, it was good to see a friendly face in Adelaide! That afternoon we went to the local markets which were immense, we spent hours looking around and met a guy who worked there who offered us a night out, who are we to refuse?! Going back to the hostel we had a bit of goon time, playing drinking games with ourselfes which was amusing. Luke then came and picked us up and we met all of his uni friends. We had a really good night out in Adelaide which branched on in to the next day!! All good fun and I didn't spend a penny!! Always a plus!! On Friday night I had gone to bed early as we were leaving the next day. Unfortunately for me the 5 NZ boys in our room decided they wanted me to go to the bar with them,. So my bed was carried to the door and I was then lifted out of bed. They dressed me up like an old man, walking stick included, and made me go for drinks. Thankfully I escaped after one and got some sleep before our trip to coober pedy on Saturday!!
Saturday morning we were up at the crack of dawn to travel to Alice Springs with Groovy Grape!! We met our group and our tour guide Steve, who's vocabulary consisted of a few key words/phrases. ''Its Great'' ''Hungry?!'' ''HILARIOUS'' cant tell you how many times we heard that over a mere 2 days!! From Adelaide we had a very long journey to Coober Pedy, so we drove most of the day, stopping in various very desolate towns for food and toilet stops!! And Fuel, something which became a running joke in the group! We arrived in Coober Pedy, an experience to say the least!! The whole town is built underground as it gets so hot there!! So we were staying in an underground hostel!! 40 bed dorm just for our small group of 15, it was so cosy down there, if a little creepy!! Went down to the bottle shop where a local man tried to sell us what I though was a jar of teeth, actually turned out to be a jar of opals!! We had a lovely night there drinking and chatting under the stars and then next morning we got a tour of an underground house and opal mine which was interesting. We headed off to Alice springs again stopping along the way. When we finally arrived we all headed to Macdonalds!! And then to a bar for some goodbye drinks. Monday me and Sarah went on a day trip to Ayres rock! Left as 6 in the morning and had a LONG journey. Unfortunately our driver was a bit of a motor mouth and managed to take the most of the way. I think he paused for about 5 minutes at one lovely peaceful interval of the day but it was short lived!! We got to explore the Olgas and the cultural centre and finally ayres rock. Where we had a BBQ and champagne sunset!! Lovely!!
The next day we got a sunset camel ride over some of the alice countryside, it was immense!!
We left Alice Springs and we are now in Perth, where after a few horribly job hunting days me and sarah both have a job in a GORGEOUS reasturant on Cottesloe beach so fingers crossed that will all keep going well and we will finally earn some money!!
Love to you all xxxx
