Well today was our last day in Singapore, off to Bankok tomorrow.
After our adventures at Sentosa we decided to have a relaxing afternoon, we did intend tochill out for an hour or so, and then go and find food in Little India or somewhere, so when we got to our rooms we were just lying about and both of us fell asleep, for like 3 hours!! When we woke up it was dark outside and we had a mad rush to get ready for our ''Night Out'' in Singapore!! We managed to get a taxi to Raffles Hotel, where we found the famous long bar and ordered 2 singapore slings. It was really fab in there, people apparently just throw the shells of the monkey nuts on the floor so it was completely covered in the shells, which was funny being as it is known for being really posh and upclass!! We had another drink in there, which all in all came to $96!! We also sat next to this amusing lady whom deserves a mention being as she was a hilarious russian sounding tourguide whom turned out to be from Perth in OZ. She ate SO MANY MONKEY NUTS that you would swear she was actually half monkey, so very amusing.
After this we decided to head to another bar, and so the search began, all my D of E training didnty pay off and we ended up in various different locations before actually finding a bar, approx half an hour later and not the one we actually wanted to go to!! Alas it was rather fantastic! On the 71st floor of a hotel the New Asia Bar had a floor tilted 20degrees towards the windows which gave amazing panoramic views of the city, which we were very fond of!!
We headed home, slightly tipsy and cheery where we procedded to sleep for about 13 hours, both of us totally flat out!! when we woke today neither of us could be bothered to do much so we bombed around in the hostel and then went to the night zoo!! Which was AMAZING!! We went for food and then I made sarah move RIGHT NEXT to the stage, determined to get good seats for the fire breathing show, which was immense!! We also made friends here with a girl we recognised from our hostel called Becky who stayed with us for the evening. We went to a show in a bit auditorium where there were lots of animals including a bear type cat thing which ran around the audience and a giant snake. We went on the night safari in these little tram things which was amazing being as it was all outdoors and you were literally within meters of Elephants, Tigers, Lions and a Bear (A sloth bear!). They were not even in cages which made the experience even more surreal!! We then went on a walk through the wood thing to see more animals, but we basically just talked and got really confused and saw some badgers. Although we walked over this really small bridge and there were loads of crocodiles under it which was admittedly really cool!!
Anyway, we are now in the hostel, attempting to pack for tomorrow, contemplating going to sleep and generally bumming around!!!
Love you all, Amy =] x
