Hello Everyone!!
We had a lush flight to Bangkok on a Cathay Pacific flight WITH WORKING IN FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT!! After a bit of a stressful time in Bangkok airport we found our transfer guy and headed to our hotel. It was called the Royal river hotel, and was reallly really fancy, only problem it was pretty far out in terms of Bangkok markets and what not so we ended up just staying in the hotel, getting given roses by all the hotel workers (we seem unable to avoid the attention of people in hotels//resorts, we claim its because sarah is blonde and we are english) We had dinner and coctails and then had an early night. Early in the morning we got picked up for our journey to Ko Samed, it took about 1 1/2 hours just to get out of Bangkok and we ended up with some rather annoying american lady who took great pride in telling us that she knew less about england than any other country in Bangkok and that her dad was scottish. She also waved her feet around lots. After about 5 hours we arrived in Ban Phe and took a boat trip to Ko Samed, now this place is LITERALLLY like paradise. When we arrived we attracted another unusual hotel worker wqho gave us real coconut milk from cocunuts, which I was very excited by, typically. We went to our room, which was AMAZING with the best views in the resort, although it was like climbing everest getting up all the stairs, especaillly after a few buckets!!
We decided to laze on the beach and then get a taxi to the other side of the island, where we anticipated there would be bars and night clubs....We had our first taxi experience!! being shoved in the back of a pick up in the dark and driven on the worlds WORST EVER roads through the wilderness. LOVED IT!! We arrived in white sands...the promised land!! and met Daniel and Nickolas, 2 crazy boys from Sweden!! we drank lots and had many water pipes from the lovely T, a local working in Ploy bar. After my random puke incident under the table after a few too many drinks we headed home. Sarah at this point decided it would be hilarious to befriend a random dog!! So some poor little dog, fondly names ''Georgie'' followed us for the whole 10 minute journey back to our resort chasing madly after our taxi. Despite my best efforts kicking sarah in the shins and not helping her up off the floor of the taxi she still called him. He ended up sleeping outside our hut!! I was less than amused!!
Woke the next day and whilst on the beach were surprised when Dan and Nick turned up!! We went for some food (Tuna sandwiches!!) and then the boys made good use of out hot shower, being as they were living in a shack!! We headed over to White sands again and again got very very drunk on buckets, danced lots with our new found friends (5 Swedish nurses!! Making us the only non-swedish speakers in a group of 9!!) Played lots of drinking games and eventuallyheaded back to our resort, by taxi, at 4.30 in the morning!!
Woke late again, went to the beach and then went to White sands (SURPRISINGLY!!) Here all 9 of us went for dinner and then headed back to the nurses hostel for more drinking games!! We then went to Ploy again for more dancing and drinking. Me and sarah headed off early ready for our early start the next day, only to find there were no taxis!! We went back to ploy and tracked down T, who got two of his friends to give us lifts on their motorbikes to the next resort!! Possibly the scariest thing ever!! But immensley fun at the same time!!
We packed up the next day and headed back to the delightful Bangkok, where we decided to stay in our rooms and had great fun ordering room service (English food!!) and watching english movies on TV!!
After spending 7 hours in the airport on Tuesday we finally got on our flight and here we are in Sydney!!
Ko Samed was AMAZING!! cant believe it was over so fast!!
