Now this was love at first sight. Before even being seated I saw a woman, sitting outside with this indigenous looking stone pot, sizzling with a deep purple and oozing with melted cheese. I knew I just had to try it.
My companion, who actually lived in Mexico for over 10 years, was surprised that I'd never tried (name of dish) before.
And boy, was this a real show stopper. It was so spicy it made your eyes tear with joy. It was so cheesy it left a queso mustache on your face. The textured bites from the chopped chicken danced alongside this spicy stew. And the accompaniments of the tortillas and chips were the Sanchos to this Don Quijote.
We ate in silence until every drip was devoured. And then we looked up at each other in unison, as we had discovered the ark of the covenant and lived to tell the tale.
We gasped, we smiled, we laughed.
"Now that is some bomb-ass Mexican food"
And just when we thought it couldn't get better, our waiter hurriedly hands us desert: tequila shots mixed with lemon soda.
