So it being Tuesday and all, I should be sitting down to write a long blog entry, but in a fit of spontaneity I booked tickets for a trip yesterday afternoon (November 11th) that has me leaving in about an hour (around 4 am November 12th). But it's in my genetic code (::cough:: mom and grandma joanie! ::cough::) that I have to stay up close to all night the night before a trip. Although, I think I'm justified in this one since I didn't actually book the tickets until yesterday and had to get everything ready in one evening. Even though Ive been talking about taking a trip this week for awhile now, it still feels like the most spantaneous thing I've ever done because I did everything today.
My plane leaves London Gatwick at 7:00 November 12th and I get to Prague at 10:00 (Prague time). I'm staying in a hostel in Prague's Old Town.
I leave Prague on Friday November 14th in the a.m. sometime and fly to Paris. I'm staying in a Best Western in Paris (I splurged, it looks really nice and it's in a good part of town).
I'm taking the Eurostar train from Paris to London on Sunday in the morning, and then I figured I can bum around London for a little bit.
I'm armed with travel books I purchased today, stuff on France and a map from a friend, and a wonderful list made for me by Hannah on all the must go places in Paris. My flatmates have been so supportive (especially Hannah who had to listen to me reason myself through this situation this morning while she was supposed to be doing something productive I think).
I'm really really nervous/excited to be doing this, especially because I'm doing it alone as no one else could take all this time off school (lucky me and my ridiculous schedule) and I know if I wait for someone else to be able to go, I wont get to go at all. So I'm doing it and I'm nervous and excited all at once. (Plus I figure if Kristina can trek across Canada for like 3 weeks, I can go for 4 days ;) ).
So, I'm going to postpone this week's post, but next week you will all get to hear about this last week's excitement (election day, bonfire night, touristy Brighton, Top Gear, and my first essay) along with my travel stories. Hopefully I will be able to upload a ton of pictures then too! Also, if you have emailed or messaged me in the last week, I'm working on my reponses to all of you; expect them next week sometime.
Until next week, wish me luck and love!
