Hello!!! This is my final blog :( Ending my trip where i started, in good old Bangkok!!
Left Ko Tao on Friday night, got the ferry then the bus to Chumporn, planned to catch the overnight train to Bangkok at 8pm but it was delayed until midnight!! So, Nina & I headed for the overbight bus instead...what an experience!! Left Chumporn at 10pm got to Bangkok at 5am after one hell of a bumpy ride!!
Picture us, soo tired and wandering down khaosan road at 5 in the morning looking for a hotel to stay in straight away lol, crazy. Anyhoo found one which suited us perfectly!!
After a few hours sleep we headed to MBK which is Bangkoks massive 6 level shopping centre, then headed out to Chinatown at night, great fun, i've never seen anywhere as crowded in my life as it was in Chinatown, so many people!! Had a lovely chinese/thai meal and even ate mine with chopsticks...well chuffed with myself lol
Then on Sunday morning it was time for Nina to go home was sad to see her go, She wrote me a letter in german so im gonna have to friggin learn it now lol!!
I spent the day seeing some sights i didnt get to see first time round. Jumped on the boat across to Thonburi to see Wat Arun, a kinda missile shaped temple thats 82metres high!
Didnt climb to the top but got to see in and around it, lovely then headed to The Golden Mount which is as it sounds...a huge golden mount, 100 metres high! Climbed to the top and got to see a fab view of the city. Also the thais come up here to pray to Buddha and also the chinese goddess of mercy which i believe is to pray for good fortune. There is an area where you make a donation then kneel down and pray, then there are small pots with numbered sticks inside, you shake the pot gently and whatever stick falls out, there is a chart on the wall with the corresponding number thats tells you your fortune!!
Luckily mines was very good others werent so lucky it wasnt afraid to tell you if you werent destined to have good fortune lol!!
Well thats pretty much everything im goin to be getting up to in bangkok this time, just going to chill out and pack up my things for heading home!
looking forward to catching up with everyone and getting back to electricity, lighting, western toilet, toilet paper, hot showers.....the list could go on!!
Despite all of these things i've had an amazing time and would do it all again in a second......wonder where i'll go next?????
see you all soon!!!!! xxxxxxxxxxx
