Well just a quick update on our so far ´whirl wind tour of Bolivia. We left Cusco on Thursday and went to Puno which is the Peru side of Lake Titicaca. We did a quick tour of the floating islands - quite interesting and we hopped on a bus to Copacabana in Bolivia (also on lake titicaca). Getting across the border was fine although it was raining and we and our belongings were soaked, but we made it so can´t complain. We stayed in Copacabana for 2 days, day one it rained so we sat in a pub trying as many Bolivian beers as we could, we have come to the conclusion "Bock" or "Super Bock" as we have renamed it, due to its 7.2% alcohol content is our favourite. Day 2 we went out on the lake to the Isla De Sol, where we saw some ruins and did a 7 mile hike across the island. it was beautiful and the sun shone all day making the views over the lake even more magnificent. From there we got an overnight bus to La Paz. Spent a day there wandering around the city and even made a quick visit to the football stadium - highest in the world apparently! From there we made our way to Sucre wich is where we are at the moment - we arrived yesterday and spent the morning looking around, its a lovely city very calm and clean compared to La Paz. Yesterday afternoon was the highlight of Bolivia so far though - a trip to a quarry .... to see genuine dinasour footprints and tracks. It was brilliant, went there in the back of a truck sporting a huge dinosaur head - the Dino Truck - to the locals. Once there all we could see were huge plastic dinasours. like a big theme park but with no rides. Anyway we had a tour and then got to see the actual footprints, i am a geek but it was fascinating and i loved it. Photos of my joy to follow shortly. xxxxx
