Well Hellys birthday weekend was pretty hard going. It happened to be about 40 degress and we decided to go out for a nice lunch near the beach in St Kilda. Howeever after getting the train into town we decided it was just too hot to take the busy tram to the beach so we went to Federation Square for lunch in the air conditioning instead. And yes we were already starting on the champagne! We had a good day and went to a couple of bars along the river, and watched the grand prix on the big screen which was exciting. So we carried on into the night, and came home around 4 in the morning, which was not so fun for Alice and hells as we were up at 7 in order to get to our neighbours tour! We were feeling alright, just bit tired really but nothing would stop Hely from enjoying the tour! It was good fun, we had a good tour guide and pretty much the whole bus was english tourists as the aussies seem to be embarrassed by neighbours and dont really watch it....oh well! We met Susan Kennedy and even managed to see a scene being filmed. After we just headed back for a swim as it was getting hot again, plus we had had a hard day! hahaah..
We have now made it to Sydney and are finding it quite a challange to pay for our accomadation and all our food now after being treated so well at the Kent household...but have managed to find ourselves some friends at our hostel and have explored the city and Manly and Bondi Beach. Had some big news yesterday as we managed to buy our car! Yes thats right, we are now offficially on the road as we start travelling up the east coast as of next week. It cost us $3000 between us (including all the service check ups, insurance, plus their buy back offer!) It was all a bit of a whirlwind and slighty serial, but we have to say we are looking forward to our next adventures carreering around! Watch out australia!! No doubt we will have many a new story to tell....as the place we bought the car also has free camping gear so should be fun. Think when we get the car we are going to head to the Blue Mountains as like a test drive to check its ok and everything. We are also going to see Hells friend near Palm Beach and Allys family friend who has a flat near the harbour which should be good. We had a good weekend for Allys birthday too which was fun, and probably involved too much free goon! (the cheap litres of wine everyone drinks here) Not much else to report really...have just been exploring and had a nice day in hyde park yesterday for our friends last day...so will be in touch soon!! Love to all! Hope everyones well, we are :)
