By the time I got to San Francisco it was about 4pm, and as I checked in to the hostel it quickly became apparent that I was staying in the middle of the tenderloin which is basically the worst part of San Fran, awesomeeee! They told me it was best to walk around the area and not to go out at night on my own, so I dumped my bags in my room and quickly went into the shopping area to buy a phone and then went back to the hostel. The day after Humpy's everyone apart from myself and a few others were all going on to do the second week of the trek which goes to the south of Alaska, so I had to say bye to a group of friends I'd just spent a week with and then be left in Anchorage on my own... And as much as I loved Alaska, Anchorage is not the most fun place. I've been sharing a tent with Jennifer all week and she's been our little alarm setter for each morning.
