So, this morning we were up early again to catch our bus to Bagan!! Andrea and Liam got some noodles for breakfast at the bus stop and the guy was literally squeezing their lemon on their food for them and mixing their noodles up, it's so funny how much they help us. Then they had about 5 locals watching them eat.
The bus was the worst bus I've probably been on, because we booked it so late we ended up with the worst seats; well me and Yann had the worst seats right on the back row squashed between some old man and a family of four squashed onto two seats while we nearly head butted the ceiling every time we went over a bump!! The air con barely worked and I felt like such a sweaty tired mess by the time we got there. Luckily we found a really nice hostel not far from the bus station at all, and we got air con and a private bathroom. Me and Andrea were in bliss!!!
Yann and andrea decided to go off on bikes while me and Liam went for a walk around the area. We ended up buying some mangos and eating them by the side of the road, yummy!! Then checked out their market which wasn't amazing at all.
Back at the hostel we spoke to two guys from chile who showed us their route they'd done on bikes the previous day and suggested a temple we could walk to, to see the sunset.
It was about 20minutes walk and standing on top of a temple looking out at that view for the first time is a feeling I'll never forget. The grass is so green against the brown/orange brick of the temple and there isn't just one temple, I could see at least thirty temples in every direction I looked. Beautiful!!!! We just sat there in silence for a good hour while we watched the sun set.
So excited to see more of this tomorrow...
