It's our one week anniversary today! I celebrated by waking up at 4.30am this morning, at least it wasn't 3am, I'm actually getting better at this! Who knows, by home time I may have it sorted ; )
So today we have to leave London, and I'm sad :( I love this place!!
We go to catch the train that runs straight to airport and of course, today of all days they are fixing the line. So we have to change trains, onto buses and back on to trains. All the while making us later and later for our flight! Luckily I checked us in prior and actually left early for once which is really unlike me..
So we then get to Heathrow and the drama doesn't stop there, we check in, then go behind security, fluff around for a bit an decide we better get to the gate as we have 15 mins till closing.. We then see that we actually have to catch a train to our terminal. We start boosting running Amazing Race Styles.. Get on the train with 5 mins to get there, get of the train and run two flights of escalators run to the gate to find our flight has been delayed anyway!!! Then they say there has been an error with a plane so bus is to another terminal- we get on the plane finally and they tell us the aircon is not working and that they're waiting for the engines to be manually started.. This is ALL helping to cure my fear of flying, but also I couldn't have planned it better myself to convince Carlos that we should train around Europe. Win for me. The pilot then says they're going to try and make up time, an get us there in 45 mins instead of 1 hour 40! What the hell? Bizarre trip! Haha
AMSTERDAM!!
We get off our flights, go outside, sit and have a smoke. The guy next to me asks if I have a spare ciggy, we give him one then he asks if we eat toasted cheese sandwiches we say no no, he said its Amsterdam! You have to eat toasted cheese sandwiches!! We laughed and said no we have to catch a train, so he gave us a piece of his uncooked toasted cheese sandwich and said take it! Haha all within 5 mins of landing... This is going to be an interesting few days...
We went out tonight and now I love Amsterdam! It's so hustly and bustly in a cool way and everyone is so friendly and nice. It reminds both Carlos and I of Queenstown a bit. On a much bigger scale obviously..
Our hotel room is newer and more modern than the last, but smaller which sux a bit, but the location is amazing! Right in the middle and near everything. Spewing now that we only booked two nights in Amsterdam so may actually come back before flying home, it's so beautiful!!
