I thought maybe the seychelles computers were just spastic. attempting to upload photos now so have some patience...
very impressed with your boaty lingo the most i remembered is that the front is the bow and the back is the stern. (is that even right?)
long sail was one of my many crazy ideas, sticking to short day sails now and rather relieved!
San Diegioian
You will be beating me... but not for long! Well, actually, maybe I should just give up now cos I don't think there's any way I could catch up once you hit Europe!
Dude, what the hang have they done with the format of this thing! Is it UG-LY or what!! I want the old style back, I almost feel like complaining to them!
Looking forward to your Seychelles updates, and mum's for that matter.
Tasty crabs? Just kidding, of course, being the wizened old boaty I am... Or not! I hear you're being uber boaty and wanting to go for a sail? Hope you have your sea legs so you don't feel too un-boaty when she starts to keel over, and I hope you remember to ease out the sheets when there's a lot of wind in the mainsil. <-- How boaty lingo-ish is THAT?!
Seychellian
think ur clever jetting off to canada don't you... well the seychelles is a country for your information so just wait a few days and i think we will be pretty equal. mwahahahaha
but canada will be awesome (looking into doing ferry from Vancouver up the coast to alaska cos heard it was real stunning and i fly into seattle so could do it pretty easy but we'll see)
Hope job is going well, "hola, commo estas (bad spelling)" is all I know in Spanish, and that my name is Raquel... practically fluent!
Its raining here but awesome to see Mum again! Even attempted a smidge of rowing this arvo and didn't catch too many crabs (if your boaty enough to know what I mean...)
love u
xx rach
Alice
PS: Rachy, I'm so impressed you're keen to do some boaty stuff - good work!!
Alice
Hey mum and Rach, thanks for your comments!! Have a super duper time in the Seychelles when you get there Rach! Awww, I'm so jealous... But not of the rain - that's a bummer! (Won't tell you how few times it's rained in San Diego since I arrived...)
Yeah, it was awesome to catch up with Sabine, and we might go up to Los Angeles this Friday to do some touristy stuff there - Hollywood etc (not so exciting to me, or her, but we figure we should see it once ya know.)
Hey mum, whose travel journal do you think is the best? Clue: whose has the most pix and stories and countries visited (not for long!)? :P
Just kidding! Rach and I are having a bit of a competition, and she's coming close to beating me - country-wise anyway!! Luv you both lots and lots!!
Mum
HI Alice
that is great meeting up with Sabine - she doesn't look to have changed a bit!
Not a lot of news here, except Rach's visit of course, tomorrow. and the fact I baked a Georgina style choc cake this morning!
its been rainging heaps here and we are hoping weather will improve so we can go off sailing to an island about six hours north of here once rach come s- well, she says she wants to practice her boaty skills!
Love the stuff about Dr Seuss,

Aleesha!! Yay for a hardcore Dr Seuss fan - he rocks huh! Wanna know something cool...? You know the book you gave me (and referred to in your comment - ooh, a pun, clever!!)?
Well, the story goes that he was invited to UCSD, the very school I'm at at the moment, to give a speech at a graduation ceremony. And what speech did he give them? Well, he wrote a poem about them growing up and the places they'll go...
Than turned it into a book! And that's how "Oh The Places..." came to be!
(Or so the rumour says.)
Aleesha
Hey Alice!
Oh the places you have go-en! Go Dr. Seuss. Reminded me of those times on the boat. So cool you went to the Dr. Seuss birthday! Sounds like you are having a great time travelling. Talk to you sometime soon!
Keep Smiling =D
Alice Again
PS: Katie, is anyone doing an Ilam Village bible study?
Alice
Barbs and Katie, THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS!!
Katie, what a privilege to get to share your story with so many people - think about how many lives you'll be impacting! Will pray God gives you loads of courage for that and that He brings people along to your bible study to be encouraged and to encourage you! God bless ya.
Barbs, wow, that must be super tough then if you're finding it over YOUR head?! What are you taking next semester? I'm taking something to do with colonialism, or post-colonialism, can't remember which one. At this stage anyway.
Wow, you really are making the most of those opps aren't ya - keep it up! Managed to get Greg along to some of the stuff yet? Any more flowers? (Or was one enough? :) )
Take care!
Katie R
