We arrived at our amazing hotel yesterday after a treacherous hike with our heavy packs on. Hotel Cortezo isn´t linked to the bus about company, so we had to make our own way to our place once the bus arrived in Madrid. We have our own room yesssssssssssssssssssss. We also have our own bathroom, tv and 3 seperate beds! It is actually luxury to have some personal space instead of sharing a room and kitchen with strangers. We ended up watching Spanish TV for a few hours to wind down.
Anyway, today we travelled to a little shopping centre and I bought some discount undies, a nice bargain ey? We then caught the metro to Grand Via and strolled around the main street and ventured into the little shops. It was so hot outside, once I took a few steps , my feet would be drenched in sweat. After heading home we then walked to a local Tapas Bar called estado puro. I ordered the special apple martini which was so sweet! We ordered about five different tapas meals that were so little but delicious. We even ordered a tortilla that had been modernised and was served in a glass, in liquid form! So weird! After dinner we walked around the corner to try some Spanish churros. Mine was filled with rich chocolate and sprinkled with cinnamon. I also drank an Italian coffee that was served in a little cute cup. I´m slowly getting used to the strong european coffee!
So basically we just shopped and ate all day, a hard life. Tomorrow we are going to a Hammam, basically like a day spa where they have hot springs a sauna and massages , yay. Mol and Bek are paying for me for my bday which is so generous, and the perfect present.
Off to our airconned room now.
Adios, Alice.
