Alice's Travels
Now in Wanaka, only arrived a little while ago so can't tell you much about the place, but it looks exactly like Taupo but a bit prettier. On our way here today we left Franz Josef at 7.30 and stopped for a walk at lake Matherson famous for its mirror lake. The morning was a bit cloudy though so probably not the best time to see it. then stopped for our first views of Mount Cook up in the clouds.
The scenery changed quite a lot on this journey going from glaciers and forrest to dry, grassy alpine sort of views. On the way we caught some great views over the Haast pass of waterfalls and hanging valleys. pretty much everything out of my geography GCSE textbook.
Vicki managed to catch me up by not staying for glacier walk (crazy girl) so she's now on board the bus of fun. I don't think she's able to travel without me anymore.
Sticking well to my budget at the moment eating lots of boring soup and noodles but the activity sheet for Queenstown was passed around today and I have already mentally spent $300 on a canyon swing and the fastest jet boat in the world. Now that I've become action girl I can't seem to stop hunting down those adrennalin sports. Have got a lot of peer pressure on me to do a bungy but I don't see any way in the world after a girl in my dorm showed me a video of her crying all the way down-I think i'll pass.
Only one week left in NZ now, I'm so going to miss this place..hmm work visa me thinks....!!!
