Alice's Travels
Today we set off for the Yasawas, the furthest group of islands from the mainland but unfortunately had to leave with one less traveller. Last night miranda starting getting bad stomach aches and had felt sick for the whole day, she went to bed hoping it would pass but it just got worse and worse. We all started to get worried coz I've never seen her so ill and we I took her in a taxi to the hospital where she was put on a drip and given antibiotics. We spent a few hours there because she was so dehydrated and eventually got back about half 12. She didnt really feel that much better and was advised to stay on the mainland and not do the island hopping. Over night she changed her ticket details to fly home-I think that experience was enough to want her own bed again.
This was all a bit of a shock of course and it took me a while to realise I was doing the next 4 months on my own, so me and jenny were quite quiet that day and also knackered.
Boarded the awesome adventures 'big yellow boat' and took 4 hours to get to Taverwa which is right at the top of the group of islands. From the boat you can see the most amazing scenery, just beaches, trees and water for as far as you can see. It was awesome. Stayed at David's Place for 3 nights and were sleeping in little Bures which are the cutest things. Was strange to have an empty bed though.
There was only 2 other people on the resort for our entire stay, first 2 girls from norway and when they left, a couple from Sweden but it didnt matter coz it was nice to have it al to ourselves and the local people were so friendly and the food was definately basic but really nice. Spent the whole three days swinging in a hamoc, reading and a bit of swimming. Was a great way to start the trip but we were craving the company of others by the end and left on thursday morning to get the yellow boat to Naviti.
