We have had a great weekend in Cairns catching up on some errands and seeing the sights as well as spending time with our friends, Sue & Trevor, and our new friends, Steve and Sandra. We've been enjoying our week here at South Johnstone, the 'Canecutter's Way' and 'Cassowary Coast' regions. The property here is 10 acres of beautiful exotic fruit trees. It's like walking in your own 'Garden of Eden', picking and eating a variety of delicious fruits straight from the tree while strolling down the lush, green grass to the stream below (no snakes, thank goodness!). Experiencing the climate of far north Qld with milder temperatures in the tablelands, mist, fog, intermittent downpours and constant drizzle. Everything is so green with lush farmland and rainforests. Enjoyed Easter Sunday meeting up with the Kelly's at their church for Easter service. Then we hit the road again north to Charters Towers for the night. Camped in the roadhouse carpark! The weather is cooler now but the days beautiful, so we had a nice walk around the main town centre - albeit a bit deserted due to Easter Monday holiday.
