Well here is my second post. I thought I would take advantage of the proximity of this internet cafe just in case I am limited when down South. I met some English guys called Joe and Lee yesterday and an american woman called Ginger who forced us all to watch the oscars which was a fairly dull experience. We went out to one of the local bars but it is pretty scary around here. Come 10 at night every street corner has a big gang of guys all sporting guns and knives but they havn´t caused any trouble yet, they just stare which is slightly disconcerting. I also manged to bump into some male prostitutes dressed as women and to give them their credit, until you see the face you would think they were women, apart from the fact that one was about 6´6! I slept well last night althoug I woke up at 4:30 wide awake, looks like my clock is going to take time to adjust. I went into the old Quito today on a tram which cost 12.5p, it was quite nice but it did start to pour down with rain. I am heading down south towards the amazon tomorrow where I will be doing my volunteer work. It´s a 10 hour bus ride so should be interesting! Anyway until then lots of love xxxxx
