We arrived in Mui Ne mid afternoon, after a fairly uneventful coach journey, although on the toilet stop the whole bus did hear me, (Steph) scream, because when I was in the loo a massive and I mean massive, spider ran out of the toilet paper!!! ahhhhhh.
It took us a little while to find somewhere to stay because the coach dropped us at one end of town and all the accommodation we had read about was at the other end. We eventually found a nice little group of bungalows right on the beach with really nice communal hammock/chill area. For the rest of the afternoon we just chilled out and went for a walk along the beach, it was quite a cool beach, there were lots of windsurfers and kite surfers, so quite entertaining to watch all the wipeouts :)
The next day we just enjoyed the beach and the chilled out atmosphere, and had a look around the town, which consisted of one really long road. On our little investigative journey we decided to book an excursion for the following day.
That evening we decided to treat ourselves to a really nice dinner, as Mui Ne had some of the best seafood we had seen on our whole trip, even Al had seafood noodles! I had the biggest plate of prawns you have ever seen, because we had to order by weight and I didnt know what weight to order, the waitress kindly advised 300kg but im guessing after the size of the plate that came out, that the 300kg might of been for two??
The excursion we decided on was a trip to the red and white sand dunes! This included a convertable jeep for the day, a trip to fairy stream, which was kind of random and at the back of what I can only guess was a fish sauce making factory (yuk), then to the white sand dunes, which were amazing we walked for about 5 minutes and it looked like we were in the middle of the Sahara desert, we paid a little kid so that we could have a go on his sledge, it was so scary but soooo much fun and alex thought watching me go down was hilarious!! He loved it so much he did it twice. Then we went to the red sand dunes to watch the sunset it was beautiful to see the sunset but the sand dunes were right by the side of a busy road with loads of tourists and loads of locals trying to sell you junk, so not quite as nice as the white ones.
Back to the hotel for a shower, then out for some food, then it was a long wait in the hammock until our bus to Saigon (1.30am) to be exact...
Infact it actually arrived at 2.30am so we jumped on went straight asleep amongst the locals!
Lets see what Saigon has to offer!
