5 hours after leaving the capital we pulled up in Taupo alongside New Zealand's largest lake - conveniently named Lake Taupo. We checked into the Base hostel there and went to find Mike. It turned out they were staying at a different hostel, but not too far away. we had a few drinks with Mike, Lindsey and the rest of the crew then had to go because we had already said that we would have a few pre going out drinks with Becky and charlotte and their freinds they'd met in Asia. So we went back to our hostel, got ready had a few drinks with the girls and their friends, then went back to meet up with Mike, Lindsey, Keiron etc. We all decided the most happening place in Taupo was actually the bar in our hostel, so we went there had more drinks and a dance, while the lads played a bit of pool. It was a pretty messy night, but it didnt matter too much for us because we could have a lie in, whereas our room mates Becky and Charlotte had to get up at 6am for their skydive! haha. We chilled out for the day, met up with Mike and Keiron around lunch time and decided to head to the natual hot pools for the afternoon. These were amazing, they were basically a river that was freezing with a waterfall flowing into it from one side with boiling hot water and a few rocks seperating the water into pools. On the way back to town the boys found an assult course and decided to get the adrenalin pumping by challenging each other on the different apperates. Once they were all worn out we decided to do a
group meal for dinner, so went to the supermarket to get the bits for the sti-fry and decided to have a chilled night watching Lord of the Rings II.
Unfortunately Charlotte and Becky never got to do their skydive today because of the
weather conditions so they have to get up early again tomorrow to do it before the Kiwi
bus picks us up. We met them on the bus and were pleased to hear that they, as well as Lindsey all managed to jump and even though they were nervous all really enjoyed it. So as a team we head to Rotorua on the big green bus!!!
