Excited about visiting the Island where Celebrity Love Island was filmed we arrived on Bounty Island on a glass bottom boat that met us from the Yasawa Flyer. Bounty Island is just what you imagine a desert island to be. Palm and sand fringed - it is beautiful. Having checked in we put our bags in the dorm and got ready for dinner as we arrived in the early evening due to the boat times. The weather at this point was awful, it was torrential rain and the dorm was a good 200 metres from the restaurant - we were going to get soaked. But, this being Bounty, we were greeted at the entrance of the dorm by Matthew (a resort worker) with a handful of umbrellas for us to use, living like kings! The food at Bounty was amazing too. So much nicer than Long Beach and Waya Lailai. There was even a choice between two dishes on the first night and a banana split for desert. Yum.
Having satisfied our appetites we made our way to the bar to play a few games of pool and table tennis before we went to bed.
The next morning the weather had cleared up and the sun was out. We were up early for breakfast of toast, cereal and fruit before walking around the whole island. This took all of 15 minutes as it was so small but it was really cool and Steph collected tons of shells to make some jewellery with. Having explored the island we settled down next to the pool to relax - I read my book while Steph and Kate (a friend from Waya Lailai) started a shell jewellery production line. After a while we decided to check out what was in the water surrounding the island so put our snorkel gear on and waded out for a swim. The water was so clear and there were a lot of fish and coral to see however there were hundreds of tiny jellyfish that would give you tiny stings each time they touched you which made it quite uncomfortable.
The resort had free kayaks for everyone to use, so having walked around the island earlier we decided to kayak around it now too. This took slightly longer but was still easy. Back by the pool we had a dip to cool off and Steph finished off a coral necklace for me and one for Matthew too.
Dinner was a buffet which meant we could go up for ore if we were still hungry - which wasn't possible at the other resorts - so we ate well that night. The evening was spent playing pool and chatting with our Irish friend Matt and Kate over a few happy hour beers before bed.
The next morning we were due to catch our boat to Mana at 11am so got up, checked out and had some breakfast. I wanted another snorkel before we left to look for some reef sharks so headed back out into the water while Steph finished her book. Unable to find any sharks I handed the flippers back in just as our boat was pulling up to take us to Mana.
Waving goodbye to 'Big Moma' (the resort manager), Matthew and Kate we boarded the Morning Breeze - a small speed boat - for the 30minute transfer to Mana Island.
