V!VA Travel Guides

Time to write the first blog text of my life... This week has just come and gone so fast I can hardly believe it! As I spend most of my time at the office I figured I should talk a bit about what I do here... and who I work for.

'''V!VA Travel Guides ''' is an online resource and book publisher created for and by the traveling community. We claim that there are three basic problems with current guidebooks which we want to combat. First, other travel guides are chronically out-of-date, normally only revised every three to five years. Conversely, V!VA consistently updates both website and books, releasing newly revised and printed editions every six months. The second issue V!VA states is that other guidebooks suffer from a single author bias, and do not share the experiences and recommendations of a diverse community of travelers. Finally, we argue that guidebooks are both heavy and expensive, and travelers do not always need all the information inside. For this, V!VA offers all content online, available and free to view and print.

So that's us. So far I've been writing reviews, as well as contributing to one of our upcoming guidebooks, Argentina. I'm also about to start building the Scandinavia profile for our website, which I'm very excited about!
