Hi veteran travellers
Just seen your pictures of Laos and will now try to persuade Peter we need to return to Vietnam and include a trip to Laos. I know the Easts did it by bike but not sure I could cope with that. Hope you got well and truly soaked for the New Year ,we did in Thailand even the |monks were out with their water soakers
Sorry to have missed both your calls Alex as I was in the New Forest Guiding. Perhaps speak to you over the weekend if not looking forward to Tuesday morning.

Hi Guys.
Great latest blog and photos. I didn't ever reach Cambodia, so hopefully one day I'll get to experience it myself.
No doubt Sophia will soon be drawing up her list of places to go as she grows up listening to you tales. She is always pulling out the South Africa album to find pictures of Uncle Alex and Auntie Lorna. I am not sure if we will be so enthusiastic about her going one day, but know how wonderful it is to see the World.
Take care in Thailand, and see you next Tuesday!
Love Jess, Adonis and Sophia x

Take care,

Hey guys,
Cambodia sounds amazing and the pictures are fantastic, although the day long travelling to get to places - not so good!!
I remember that hole in the Cu Chi tunnels - I almost got stuck in it because I had to drop down further than everyone else! I managed to do the whole length of the tunnels as well along with 2 other guys (apparently everytime we came above ground our faces were so excited as we looked at the guide to show us to the next one).
Glad you are holding your own with all the people that will try and rip you off!! You have to order a Vietnamese coffee - see if you fair any better with what you're meant to do!! Definately an experience...
I can't believe how quickly it has gone but at the same time it seems I have been checking this site to see if you have put up a new blog or photos for a while!!
I don't need to tell you to make the most of the time you have left...

Fantastic blog about Cambodia, Lorna? It sums up much of our own thoughts when we were there. What experienced travellers you must be to get to Siem Reap by road. We didn't do that much road travelling in Cambodia but the amount we did do was too much for me!! Nor is arguing with the Border Guards something we would even contemplate, Saga customers will be a sinch in the future.
Loved the story of the little girl and the noughts and crosses as well. You will have so many more stories, Peter and I have booked the week after you get back to hear them. Looking forward to seeing you. Make the most of the last couple of weeks and Happy Easter to you both.
Love

Hey guys,
Congrats on passing the padi!! Thailand sounds amazing and bringing back lots of memories - can't believe you were one of the crazy people that had to get a boat back to another island from Full Moon..!! The pics all look amazing.
You going to Nha Trang in Vietnam? Nice beach place and there is a place nearby where you can bathe in mud etc. Have fun with the roads there - I thought I would never be able to cross - my tactic was to find a monk and cross when they did (figured the cars and crazy amount of bikes would not hit a monk)!!
Look forward to the next update and seeing you home x

Hi Alex and Lorna
Great to hear about Thailand I knew you would enjoy it. The boat trip on the Choapraya is certainly a highlight ,we had three days on the barge when we were there! It's like a movie watching everyone going about their daily lives on the river banks. Every now and again the guides got involved as little boys swam up to the boat throwing balls and shouting Manchester United.
Hope you enjoyed Cambodia and the temples. Dad thought there were a few too many!! Have fun in Vietnam and give our love to our favourite place Hoi An. Perhaps you will have dinner at the dinky restarant upstairs with the balcony, looking over the lanterns swaying in the street.
Looking forward to the 21st as well, will get the flags out.
Love Mum

Hi Lorna & Alex,
Great to read about your first stint in the Far East and it was so nice to see you at Pantai Cenang.
After meeting up with you 'travellers', we soon achieved our status as 'professional holiday makers', we got the tan, went to the spa, attended the managers cocktail party and was always first (and last) at Happy Hour!
Glad you found Leo's Beach and have a wonderful time in Thailand. xx
